I'm excited to announce a significant change for our company: we're rebranding from The Meade Company to Creative Friction. This change has been a long time coming, and I want to share the reasons behind it, and more importantly, what this means for you.
Why the Name Change?
Since the beginning, I’ve been uneasy about the business being so closely tied to my personal name. It worked when I started, but it’s made it harder to separate myself from the company as we’ve grown. I’ve also struggled with how to position the company in a way that feels unique, rather than just an extension of “me.”
That’s why Creative Friction feels like the perfect next step. For those familiar with my work, you might recognize this name from the podcast I co-host with Madeline Reeves, where we discuss the real, often untold, challenges of running a creative business. That DNA—honest conversations, practical advice, and moving beyond industry hype—is exactly what I want this next phase of my company to represent.
What’s Changing?
One immediate change is how I’ll approach this newsletter moving forward. The goal is simple: I’ll publicly answer the most common questions agency owners ask me. In my experience, many clients face similar challenges, just at different times. My hope is that this approach will help you find answers to questions you might not even know you have yet.
Why Should You Care?
Because this shift is about you. My goal is to create a real-time FAQ sourced from agency owners just like you. This way, you’ll get answers from someone who’s been in your shoes and understands the challenges you’re facing. Whether you’re trying to scale to your first $1M or tackle another big goal, Creative Friction will be here to help you make smarter business decisions.

Go ahead Jeff!
Congratulations!!!!
